Jan was in the legal field as a
Certified Legal Assistant in South Florida for
about 20 years. Her fields of expertise
ranged from criminal law, family law and personal injury. After that juncture she decided to switch
gears and get involved in Corporate America.
She was offered a position that required her to relocate to San Antonio, Texas and became a Corporate Secretary. Jan was
also one of the Executives of the Retama Park Racetrack located in Selma, Texas. Part of her responsibilities included
reporting quarterly financials to the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission).
Jan has 2 beautiful daughters; her
eldest daughter, Brooke, resides in Boynton
Beach, Florida and
has just become a licensed pharmacist. “After
all those demanding years of study, we’ve come to the conclusion that it’s all
worthwhile,” says Jan. Her youngest
daughter Aubreigh resides in Westlake
Village, California
and is currently a licensed commercial insurance broker.
In September 2006, Jan relocated to Sebring, Florida
and delved into real estate. After being
in the industry for only a year, she advanced her options by obtaining her
Broker’s license. Presently, she is
pursuing the required education to acquire her Certified Residential Specialist
(CRS) designation. Jan is an over
achiever and plans on continuing specialty education in her field so that she
can stay “above the crowd”.
Jan is very involved in her
community which includes being the Secretary/Director of the Heartland
Association of Realtors® (HAR), is on the Board’s Governmental Affairs
Committee and is a member of the Group for Better Government. She achieved the 2008 HAR President’s Award
and was very instrumental in the Celebration of Life Fashion Show, Guardian
Angel and Casino Night, which are only a few events with her involvement that
raise money for selected charities in our community. Harvest-fest is the next upcoming event and
is dedicated to the children of our community.
In addition, Jan is a Director of
the Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce and was an Ambassador for the past
for 24 months. She engages in
volunteering throughout Highlands
County which includes
assisting the Highlands County Builders Association, Junior Achievement and any
other worthwhile entities that may need assistance including helping with the
Triathlon for the past two years, hosted by the Chamber’s Young Professionals.
