About the Sebring Safe House
The Safe House began in about 1995 and was a Highland 's County
community project headed up by Kevin Roberts. Peace River Center
agreed, at the communities request, to manage the Safe House under strict
Florida State Certification standards. Through the years PRC has
invested a great deal of time, talent and funding to maintain the
financial stability of the shelter. It is a 15 bed facility that
serves men, women and children who are victim's of domestic violence
and who have no safe place to go. (Since women and children are the most common victims of domestic violence, it is the charity we have chosen to support through the efforts of this seminar.)
PRC provides free of charge food,
clothing, shelter, transportation, supportive counseling,
information/referrals, safety planning, and other essential assistance
to our residents.
Our community partners keep the shelter going by donations of
additional funding and in-kind donations such as food, diapers,
formula, gift cards, etc. By participating in our silent auction, as a sponsor or advertiser, you are helping us help others in their most desperate time of need.
