Starla Shatler

Motivational Speaker

Starla is a speaker and teacher whose passions are the Word of God and words about God.  She is a popular leader in Bible Study groups, speaks at events/retreats, and delights in growing together spiritually with other women. She has developed small group study material for several churches and is a contributing writer for Bible study workbooks and curriculum. 

Starla grew up in Alabama and graduated from Auburn University but gladly admits she has learned the most about life during her past 17 years in Florida. (Although she insists she's still 100% Auburn Tiger!)  Currenly, Starla lives in Lake Placid with her "amazing" husband, Steve, a Florida Fish and Wildlife biologist, and her three precious daughters: Rachel (13), Camille (11), and Robin (10).

When not busy as a childrens' chauffeur, school volunteer, church helper, house maid, family chef and personal assistant, Starla enjoys watching sports, playing the piano, reading and writing.  She is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Placid,  retired member of MOPS International, and unofficial member and all too frequent patron of Publix in Lake Placid.
